As the fastest growing plant on earth, bamboo can grow up to 1 centimeter per hour. This makes bamboo a wonderfully sustainable resource, not only for construction, but for health and clothing. It also uses about 1/3 less water to grow than cotton, while its size allows it to capture more CO2 than the cotton plant.

While the first known bamboo clothing was created in 1864, the first applicable method was patented in China in 2003. Clothing made out of bamboo plants have extensive benefits. As a grass, it is extremely soft, durable, protects against UV rays, moisture wicking, low maintenance and hypoallergenic. Maybe most importantly it doesn't require the tools and chemicals that other plants need in the growing and cultivating processes.
